About Saint Peter and Prati

Vatican City surrondings and Prati neighbors are one of the most pleasent residential areas of the city, with many shops and eating places at walking distance
Designed principally by Donato Bramante, Michelangelo, Carlo Maderno and Gian Lorenzo Bernini, St. Peter‘s is the most renowned work of Renaissance architecture and one of the largest churches in the world.
St. Peter’s is famous as a place of pilgrimage and for its liturgical functions. The Pope presides at a number of liturgies throughout the year, drawing audiences of 15,000 to over 80,000 people, either within the Basilica or the adjoining St. Peter’s Square.

St. Peter surroundings are a very special place. The enormous church is surrounded of little streets of Borgo Pio.
The adjacent Prati area is still called from what the place used to be meadow were cattle used to graze. Nowadays is a very nice residential area confining with Vatican City, more quiet and a bit less touristic than the city historic centre location in the surroundings. Beside Saint Peter and Vatican Museums there are plenty of shops and restaurants, bars and is very safe at night to walk around with so many options mostly at walking distance one from another.

Public transports

The line 360 ​​bus from Termini to Salvini takes 27 min including transfers and departs every 15 minutes.
